Key Teaching Points:
Anatomic variants, such as a Chiari network, can affect the ability to completely map the chamber of interest during a catheter ablation.
Intracardiac echocardiography is a valuable tool that can be used to identify rare anatomic variants. Use of intracardiac echocardiography should be considered when anatomic variants are appreciated on pre-procedural imaging or are encountered during an ablation procedure.
Intracardiac echocardiography can also be used to improve catheter manipulation and facilitate real-time mapping and ablation.
